"CELEBRATE" lyrics

Madonna/Celebrate
I think you wanna' come over, yeah I heard it through the grapevine.
Are you drunk or you sober? Think about it, doesn't matter
and if it makes you feel good then I say do it,
I don't know what you're waiting for

Feel my temperature rising
There's too much heat I'm gonna' lose control
Do you want to go higher, get closer to the fire,
I don't know what you're waiting for

Come join the party, yeah
Coz' everybody just won't do.
Let's get this started, yeah
Coz' everybody wants to party with you.

Boy you got a reputation, but you're gonna' have to prove it
I see a little hesitation,
Am I gonna' have to show you that if it feels right, get on your marks
Step to the beat boy that's what it's for

Put your arms around me
When it gets too hot we can go outside
But for now just come here, let me whisper in your ear
An invitation to the dance tonight

Come join the party, it's a celebration
Anybody just won't do
Let's get this started, no more hesitation
Coz' everybody wants to party with you

Haven't I seen you somewhere before?
You look familiar…
You wanna' dance? …Yeah.
I guess I just don't recognize you with your cloths on… (laughs)
What are you waiting for?

Come join the party, it's a celebration
Anybody just won't do
Let's get this started, no more hesitation
Coz' everybody wants to party with you X 2

Boy you've got it, it's a celebration
Coz' anybody just won't do
Let's get it started, no more hesitation
Coz' everybody wants to party with you

Boy you've got it
Coz' anybody just won't do
Let's get it started, no more hesitation
Coz' everybody wants to party with you

Celebrate Contests

About 40 fans , boys and girls, were selected to be part of the shooting for the Celebrate music video at the Metropol Club in Milano. Before they got dressed in Geisha, cowgirl and other Madonna looks, each one had a photo taken of them. Some danced , some jumped rope in front of a white or black screen.
According to some rumours Jonas Akerlund is directing the video. The use of fans to feature in the video, the fact was partly filmed during a party organized and financed by Dolce & Gabbana, the use of the Metropol Club location for free, and the rumour of some tension with Warner Music, suggest that Madonna is financing the video herself.

Another part will be filmed in Barcelona and again fans are being recruited; same requirements and email address: lastminutefans@gmail.com

MADONNA Makes Statement At UDINE SHOW

night during her concert in Udine just before "You Must Love Me" Madonna in tears said a few words about the tragedy that occured in Marseille this afternoon:
"Before I continue the show I want to take a moment to acknowledge and pay tribute to two people who lost their lives today. I don't know if you've heard. Two men building my show in Marseille where we're going next - the crane fell and we don't know why. (Madonna names them). I hate to be associated with suffering. I want to pay tribute to their families. Let's take a moment to appreciate our family, loved ones, friends around us".
Madonna cried throughout ''You Must Love Me'' and before "Ray of Light' she once again paid tribute to the two men saying "Let's give it up for the two Charlies"

Stage for French Madonna show collapses, 2 died in accident

Stage for French Madonna show collapses, 1 dead
The roof of a stage being built for a Madonna concert in the French port city of Marseille collapsed Thursday, leaving one worker dead and nine injured, city officials said.
The roof at the Stade Velodrome stadium fell apart on top of several workers.
One worker was killed and two of the injured were seriously hurt, said Maurice Di Nocera, Marseille city councilor in charge of major events, said on France-Info radio. The seriously injured were an American and a Briton, said the Marseille central fire department. The killed worker was French. No identities were released.
Four other people had multiple injuries, including fractured bones, and three others suffered light injuries, the fire department said. All of the injured were taken to local hospitals.
Di Nocera said the roof had been about two-thirds complete when it collapsed gradually on top of several workers.
"Since it did not collapse right away, that allowed several people to get out, to avoid being hit," he said.
The cause of the roof collapse was not clear. Police and emergency officials cordoned off the area.
Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour was due to arrive in Marseille on Sunday, but the concert was canceled because "rebuilding a stage, it's not possible," Di Nocera said.
Marseille prosecutors asked the regional safety agency to investigate the cause of the accident.

MADONNA CELEBRATE

''If it makes you feel good, then I say do it!'' Madonna celebrates another decade of music!

''If it makes you feel good, then I say do it!'' Madonna celebrates another decade of music!
That's just one line Madonna chants in her new funlovin' single "Celebrate", taken from her upcoming Greatest Hits compilation tentatively released in September.
But is she recycling herself? Or is this yet another reinvention?
With additional lyrics like "I don't know what you're waiting for" and "Step to the beat boy that's what it's for", she gives a new kick to her classic tracks and pays a brilliant reverence to them in a genuine way only she can. You will all be able to judge for yourself as the single is being shipped to radio stations as we speak, to be debuted towards the end of this month.

Furthermore, the excellent mutual works of Madonna and Paul Oakenfold has fruited a definite club number. An old school, revamped Madonna track, which also includes a sexy speaking part that takes us back to one of her very first hits, "Everybody". We even dare to say "Spotlight" comes to mind for its freshness and spontaneity. Expect a lot of “Yeah's”. Fans will certainly jump off their sits to this dance piece.
Now will we be getting a brand new music video? Let's sit back and see.

The second fresh track landing in the Greatest Hits is "Revolver", produced by Frank E, featuring a short and efficient rap by Lil Wayne, similar to what we've heard on his initial and original version for the song. Still it remains an absolute Madonna track. Her vocals are high pitched, almost juvenile. Music wise, not much was altered, same for lyrical content. This however is the only collaboration by Frank E and Madonna and the result rocks.

So what didn't make it?
"Broken", an original track written and produced by Madonna and Paul Oakenfold, that was earlier mistaken for "I'm sorry". Another light dance track in which she repeatedly asks us (or the media?) if we don't feel sorry for her.

Another discarded track off the hits album would be a song that was written back in 2001 by Madonna and Mirwais Ahmadzaï, we assume for her underrated "American Life" album, and reworked by DJ Oakenfold for the current CD. "Cool" would be its working title. An in-your-face upbeat track. This one might actually get a proper release in some form, so we wouldn't want to spill the beans just yet but it’s an overt teasing Madonna track.

We are up for an inspiring new era, time to get the celebration started!

CELEBRATE

Celebrate will be the first single from Celebration, the upcoming Madonna’s double album greatest hits and her final release with Warner Music as record company. Radio stations should get the track around July 15th, according to French radio station NRJ.
The song has a little something of Madonna’s single Get Together.

Revolver will also be on Celebration with Lil’ Wayne as vocal guest. His rap is about half a minute and identical to the demo. So it’s still an absolute Madonna track where she sings with a high pithed voice.
Broken, third new track and produced by Paul Oakenfold, does sound rather similar to Celebrate and won’t be released as a single.
The track Cool won’t appear on the greatest hits album, but might be used as a B-side.

Sticky & Sweet Tour Turkish dancer Yaman Okur took some time to answer a few questions on the phone to newspaper, Today’s Zaman. Okur spoke about Madonna’s obvious motherly affection, his secret to approaching her and his own story of becoming one of Madonna’s dancers in an interview ahead of the start of the 30-gig tour, which will run through September. “She has enormous positive energy,” said Okur about the Material Girl. “Madonna is more of a beautiful mother than an artist.”
I was born in Paris, and I grew up there. My family relocated to Paris two years before I was born.
What does it feel like being on the same stage with Madonna? Do you remember the very first song of hers to which you performed live onstage?
There were around 50,000 or 60,000 people in Wembley Arena. My first moment live onstage was the moment she was about to sing “Beat Goes On.” It was so beautiful to be able to perform my own dance numbers besides the set choreography.

What was your story before you auditioned in New York to become one of Madonna’s dancers for her European tour? Were you a fan of hers?
I have always watched Madonna’s shows with a great appreciation; I loved her shows on the Drowned World Tour and Re-Invention Tour as a dancer myself. I was born in 1977; we all grew up listening to Madonna’s songs throughout our childhood, but honestly I was more into rap and hip-hop as I was into break dancing also. I first dreamed about dancing with Madonna while I was watching her Confessions Tour and that was because I saw one of the most famous American break dancers, Cloud, dancing with her there. Last January, my girlfriend and I got this text message from one of our friends about auditions for dancers for Madonna in New York, and we flew to New York immediately. Throughout the auditions, [we were asked to perform] set choreographies for three and also freestyle performances. Madonna has enormous positive energy, and dancing right in front of her was like a dream.

How is Madonna’s behavior towards her dancers?
In my opinion, Madonna is more of a beautiful mother than an artist. … She approaches all of us just like a mother. She cares about our comfort, and she approaches with love and protection just like a mother does.

In a documentary, I watched Madonna gather her dancers and pray together with them before her stage shows. Did you also pray with her?
Yes, of course we did. Among her dancers there is also another Muslim dancer named Norman, who normally lives in Malaysia. Madonna knew we’re Muslims. She heard us read al-Fatiha [ahead of a performance] in one corner, and she listened to us. Just two days later, while we were about to pray all together before the show, she said to us, “You read ‘al-Fatiha,’ too.” She is so unique and so special.

Which Madonna song gives you the greatest inspiration for dancing?
My favorite song from her Sticky & Sweet Tour is “Beat Goes On.” Actually I was chosen as a choreographer, and I prepared the choreography for the song “Heartbeat.” You will see it when the tour’s DVD comes out. I love the song “Heartbeat,” as well.

Who else have you danced with onstage, or who would you like to dance for?
My dream was to dance with Madonna, and it came true. I can’t even dream about dancing for someone else after dancing with Madonna. Previously, I performed with Lionel Richie for a show in France. Now we are going on with our rehearsals in London for Madonna’s summer tour … which starts off in London on July 4. It makes me so happy that I will be dancing on the same stage with Madonna once more.

Any hints for approaching Madonna or any guidelines for getting a chance to become a dancer for her?
Actually, there is a hint. Madonna likes things she has never seen before, things that are very unique. A brand new dance undiscovered, brand new music undiscovered. She liked my slow-motion numbers when she chose me. … Madonna likes original and very different things, and she is not afraid of giving it a try. She is open to novelty. If you want to approach her, you have to come up with new things.

ROUND 2

TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON and HOLIDAY

FROZEN/OPEN YOUR HEART

adonna thrilled fans in London on Saturday night by performing a medley of Michael Jackson’s hits at the O2 Arena - just a week before the late legend was due to grace the same stage.
Madonna recently confirmed that she planned to perform with Jackson at one of his 50 comeback concerts, which were due to kick off on July 13.
Jackson’s classic hits “Billie Jean” and , “Wanna Be Startin’ Something”, as well as the Moonwalking dance were part of this homage, much to the delight of the London crowd.
Madonna told the audience…
“Let’s give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known - Michael Jackson!”

Later in the gig, the lyrics to Jackson’s hit track “Man in the Mirror” were flashed up on screen as Madonna took to the stage wearing a black armband and a single white glove - in honor of the late music legend. In an interview before the concert, the star expressed her shock over the sudden passing of her friend — and explained her onstage tribute. She says:
“I am so terribly sad about Michael Jackson’s death. I don’t know what artist wasn’t inspired by him. To be able to do what he did at such an early age was unearthly, everybody grew up in awe of him. To work with him and become friends and hang out with him, was exciting for me. I used to love picking his brains about musical stuff. Obviously we have very different personalities - he was a lot more shy than I am. That’s because I was allowed to have a normal childhood and he wasn’t, so there was a vulnerable side to him that made you want to take care of him and protect him. He was a real paradox, one of the world’s greatest performers and obviously very confident on stage, but in real life he was shy and you really felt for him. I chose ‘Billie Jean’ (to perform at the O2) because it’s instantly recognizable. Kento, my dancer, was obsessed with Michael all his life. And when Michael was having auditions for his tour, Kento really wanted to go but he’d already made a commitment to me. So now he’s about to have his moment and be Michael at my show.”

Turkish dancer Yaman Okur reveals secrets about Madonna

Madonna performs songs from her album
Madonna performs songs from her album
The summer 2009 leg of Madonna's Sticky & Sweet World Tour kicks off in London tomorrow. Among the performers accompanying Madonna onstage will be Yaman Okur, a Turkish dancer who has made headlines as the “brave Turk behind Madonna,” as his name means “brave” in Turkish.

The Paris-born Okur, whose dreams came true when he first joined Madonna onstage before an audience of 60,000 in September 2008 as a dancer during her world tour, was busy rehearsing for the upcoming performances of the tour last week, but took some time to answer a few questions on the phone. Okur spoke about Madonna's obvious motherly affection, his secret to approaching her and his own story of becoming one of Madonna's dancers in an interview ahead of the start of the 30-gig tour, which will run through September. “She has enormous positive energy,” said Okur about the Material Girl. “Madonna is more of a beautiful mother than an artist.”

The Turkish press calls you the “brave Turkish dancer behind Madonna,” but where exactly are you from?

I was born in Paris, and I grew up there. My family relocated to Paris two years before I was born. My mother is originally from İzmit, and my father is from Adapazarı [in northwestern Anatolia]. I used to visit Turkey each summer throughout my childhood, and that's how I learned Turkish. There are no other dancers in my family, but I have always been into dance, since my childhood.

What does it feel like being on the same stage with Madonna? Do you remember the very first song of hers to which you performed live onstage?
